CSS · Motion and transforms

will-change

Hints that a property will animate so the browser can optimise ahead. Use temporarily, never as a blanket rule.

cssRunnable example css course

Syntax

will-change: transform

Example

Try it

.demo { will-change: transform; }

Overusing will-change wastes memory and can make performance worse.

Reference pages are the quick answer. The course explains the why, shows the full example and ends with a challenge.
